Pierluigi Prete (Cisterna di Latina, 25 June 1967), he was a professional football player and now Is  a coach former Italian footballer, with a defensive role,  he is also referred to as Gigi.  He grew up in the youth sector of his city, doing all the work and arriving at the first team at the age of 17, where he took part in the victory of the (interregional) championship, subsequently called Serie D, in 1984-1985 making 7 appearances. He remained for another two years in the Pro Cisterna in Serie C2 group D, making 57 appearances and 3 goals. In the 1987-1988 championship he went to Frosinone in Serie C1 where he scored 31 appearances and 2 goals. In the same year he was called up to the C21 under-21 national team (by Giovannini) playing with Beppe Signori, Pierluigi Casiraghi, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Fausto Pizzi, Oreste Didonè, Marco Simone and Stefano Salvatori. With them he participated in the tournament in South Korea with 5 appearances.

 In 1988-1989 series B was bought by Empoli just relegated from Serie A. In the same year, in October, he loaned to the Casarano in Serie C1 concluding the season with a total of 29 appearances. The following years he returned to Empoli (relegated to C1 series) and remained for two consecutive years at the court of the coach Gianpiero Vitali making 63 appearances and 3 goals. In 1991-1992 Reggina (C-1 round B) purchased it on a free transfer basis and made 33 appearances. In 1992-1993 Vitali's Taranto wants him at all costs and Prete immediately repays his confidence with the second goal in the Italian Cup (in the match against Lucchese won by 2-1) which will give the Apulians access to the next round of Italian Cup, for the first time at night, with Rome

Concludes the season with 33 appearances and a 2 goals one in the cup and the other in the league. In 1993-1994 he moved (due to the exclusion from the next championship of Taranto from the bankruptcy court) to Siena (C-1 group B) at the court of Silvio Baldini, making 32 appearances and 1 goal. In 1994-1995 in November, he moved to Albanova (C-2 group C) with 27 appearances and 2 goals. In 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 Castel di Sangro C-1 round B promoted in Serie B after the famous play-off match won on penalties in Foggia against the battleship Ascoli: it packs in total 63 appearances and 1 goal scored in the Abruzzo derby between Catel di Sangro and Chieti 1 - 0, between the C-1 group B championship and the next in Serie B. At the end of the championship he moves to Brescello C-1 group A, Giocerà di coppa Italia against F.C. Juventus finished 1 -1 at the Stadium (Mapei Stadium - Giglio). The year ends with only 6 appearances due to an accident that will keep him out of the camps for a good 8 months. From 1998 to 2001 he played in the Fermana: the first year the dispute in series C-1 group B, reaching the summit in first place, the second year in series B, the third year in Serie C-1 group B; it makes 67 appearances in total.

He started his coaching career at Civitanovese in 2002-2003 making player and coach in the Promotion league. From 2003-2004 until 2005-2006 he trained the Castelfidardo (First Category) winning the championship last year. In 2006-2007 and in 2007-2008 he trains the Fermana (Promotion), getting a promotion in the second season. In 2014 he entered the professional youth sector of the Latina Serie B, coaching Under 15, Under 16 and Under 19 as a technical collaborator. He collaborated for 10 years with the Milan Junior Camp and for 5 years with Italia soccer camp.
